Roughly 10% of all monarchs and queen butterflies will have the protozoa O.E. All of these species should be screened for O.E. This is best done with tape and microscope. O.E. isn't fatal unless a heavy infestation is present. Starting with O.E. even in a low infestation will eventually cause problems.More About O.E.
